On a rainy day with my kids (2 large dogs) in the car, I was driving my usual careful way. I was stopped for speeding. I asked the officer twice to see the radar and what the overage was. He never told me the overage, and said an officer in another car had the radar. His second response to requesting proof was that it wasn't available. I never admitted to speeding, I denied it. He has put a 12 mile overage on the ticket, again with no explanation before writing it and I feel he became angry at my requesting informaion and raised the number since he refused to tell me any time before. Do I have a right to proof? Do I have a right to know by how much I was speeding up front? I now have no option except to appear at court, a date which willbe sent by regular mail, at which time I can pay x dollars, and get my license back. What will happen to my record now? What will 12 miles do to my driving record? How do I proceed?
