So around 8pm I was with my buddy and we got to an intersection with a long straight away (55mph zone) as someone in a Subaru pulls up next to me. Well the Subaru started inching up next to me and wanted to race. I go with it and he takes off and I get to 4th gear and start to slow down because I didn't to get pulled over at this next intersection coming up. So i slow down and a few seconds later i see a cop throw his lights on and pull the other person over. After that, I continue to drive forward where a cop pulls across the road at the red light that i was at. I start driving when it goes green and he follows me so I immediately turn into a parking lot and he throws his lights on. I park and he comes up to my car and says something along the lines of "I'm assuming that since you pulled over before I turned my lights on you know why I'm pulling you over?" to which I replied "I just assumed you were pulling me over since you stopped and waited until I went to follow me.". He then asks for my license and registration but I didn't have my wallet on me so I tell him I don't have it. He asks for my information and when he asked my birthdate I told him the correct one and he asks "so how old does that make you?" I replied "17". Also, out of nowhere he says "You been smoking in here?" to which I replied "absolutely not". He goes and consults with the original cop that reported me to the other cop and comes back with a ticket for $224.50 for going 88 in a 55 and tells me that the other cop was feeling generous for not marking down the racing or I'd've lost my license.

Fast forward a few hours to me coming to the realization that if a minor driver gets caught going 26mph over the speed limit, its a suspended license for 90 days, plus to top it off, if its 31mph over its another 15 days and safe driving classes.

Now. I 100% am okay with paying the speeding ticket, I know I shouldn't have been driving like that, but my life honestly revolves around having a license. I leave school half day to drive to work (Autobody) and work on cars there and drive them there. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

On the ticket itself, box 59A that says "Juvenile" is not checked even though they were fully aware of my age. So does that mean that I wont lose my license since its unchecked? Also in regards to the ticket, they put "Tracker" as the equipment that caught me going my speed. I was timed for 4.34 seconds for .0166 miles.

Thank you in advance, I really could use all the help I can get

Then hire a lawyer.

Otherwise you aren't getting out from under this and if you lose your license for a while (you deserve it) you can buy bus passes or rely on friends and family while you are being punished for your stupidity.

Meantime, read this:

The day I died was an ordinary school day. How I wish I had taken the bus. But I was too cool for the bus. I remember how I wheedled the car out of Mom. "Special favor," I pleaded. "All the kids drive."
When the 2:50 bell rang, I threw all my books in the locker. I was free until 8:40 tomorrow morning! I ran to the parking lot, excited at the thought of driving a car and being my own boss. Free!

It doesn't matter how the accident happened. I was goofing off -- going too fast -- taking crazy chances. But I was enjoying my freedom and having fun. The last thing I remember was passing an old lady who seemed to be going awfully slow. I heard the deafening crash and felt a terrible jolt. Glass and steel flew everywhere. My whole body seemed to be turning inside out. I heard myself scream.

Suddenly I awakened; it was very quiet. A police officer was standing over me. Then I saw a doctor. My body was mangled. I was saturated with blood. Pieces of jagged glass were sticking out all over. Strange that I couldn't feel anything.

Hey, don't pull that sheet over my head! I can't be dead. I'm only 17. I've got a date tonight. I'm supposed to grow up and have a wonderful life. I haven't lived yet. I can't be dead!

Later I was placed in a drawer. My folks had to identify me. Why did they have to see me like this? Why did I have to look at Mom's eyes when she faced the most terrible ordeal of her life? Dad suddenly looked like an old man. He told the man in charge, "Yes, he is my son."

The funeral was a weird experience. I saw all my relatives and friends walk toward the casket. They passed by, one by one, and looked at me with the saddest eyes I've ever seen. Some of my buddies were crying. A few of the girls touched my hand and sobbed as they walked away.

Please -- somebody -- wake me up! Get me out of here! I can't bear to see my mom and dad so broken up. My grandparents are so racked with grief they can hardly walk. My brothers and sisters are like zombies. They move like robots. In a daze, everybody. No one can believe this. And I can't believe it, either.

Please don't bury me! I'm not dead! I have a lot of living to do! I want to laugh and run again. I want to sing and dance. Please don't put me in the ground. I promise if you give me one more chance, God, I'll be the most careful driver in the whole world. All I want is one more chance!

Please, God, I'm only 17!

(1) You should have your license with you while driving AT ALL TIMES.

(2) Your life should not revolve around having a license. I guess you will have to get a ride from someone else to get to work, or bicycle. If having a license was really important to you, you wouldn't try racing some fool. Clearly, you didn't break it off early enough. "Rebel Without a Cause" is an old movie, didn't end well in the movie or real life, so don't emulate James Dean.

(3) Stop whining and wheedling. Looking for loopholes to get out of consequences just annoys adults.

I would "like" this ...but I don't think it would be appropriate. :(:(
