i have a graduated drivers licnese in michigan. I got a ticket during the summer for going through a yellow light. I went to court pleaded guilty and i got a 500 word essay to write. Just yesterday coming home from work i got a speeding ticket for 5 over in a 25 zone. He told me to make a court date and i'm worried that i will have to pay the fine and will not be able to write another essay and that i'll have points. I also wanted to know if i should consider a lawyer and try to fight it. Also if i have a chance to have my license revoked or suspended.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

The essay obviously didn't work -- you still speed.

How about learning to obey the rules, especially since you have a questionable record? I don't say this to be mean, but it will help you from getting into this trouble again.

It can cost you points, but the number of points on your record will determine whether or not your record will be suspended or revoked. I.e. check to see how many points you have already. Some points expire after so many years. So check those too.
