i was lae for work one afternoon and decided to gain some time- so i took a gravel county road-incidently there was a Missouri trooper coming towards me- and says he clocked me at 77mph, that's 42 mph over the limit. what would likely happen to me?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Okay, I don't know how he could clock you coming towards you. Anyway, what would happen to you depends on what citation you got. If it was just a speeding ticket, you pay a fine. If it was wreckless driving or something like that, there may be jail time. BUT, you should take this to court. Find the pleading documentation in your state (look at IAAL's posting -- he is a genius) and find out when the trooper has a day off and schedule your court appearance for that day. If the trooper doesnt show up, your case is dismissed. if he does show up, if you have a good clean driving record, try to get the judge to lower the fine.

Hope this helps.
