This should be simple.
I sponsored the travel of my mother in law from the Philippines. Over the last 10 years she has gone from restricted resident, to resident, now a US citizen. When I sponsored her travel I had to sign a paper that I was responsible for her if she broke the law, or applied for food stamps. That I was responsible for her care, and harm she might cause. At what stage does this responsibility go away? Does it? Sorry I don't remember if it stipulated a time frame. I hope someone on here might know. Thank you!
