I am a corporate pilot that has been offered a position in the US from a company interested in sponsoring me. They are completing the I129 and I140 forms as well as applying for a Labor Certification in the immediate area. Will there be a problem if both forms are submitted together? Does one supercede the other?

In Part 4 of the I140, would we check the first box stating we plan to file to adjust my status to permanent resident after approval of the petition?

Also was wondering... one more time, how does a person go about applying for citizenship if they have already married a US citizen? As I understand it, the waiting period could be approximately 12 months (or longer).

If you are married to a USC, why is the company sponsoring you.. You should be able to get a green card through marriage. Has your spouse filed an I130 on your behalf to bring you to the US ?

Also, citizenship generally takes between 5 and 10 years after arrival.. no idea if this is different for Canadians..
