What is the name of your state? California

My soon to be husband just lost his job so he went back to court to terminate his spousal support. The thing is that the court stopped it but the judge ordered that it will be open for judgement. I have a good job. My question is can his ex go back to court and have the spousal support reinstated and get money from my paycheck? And when my boyfriend gets a job and the both of us make good money can she also get part of my check?

My response:

As soon as your "boyfriend" gets a job, Spousal Support can, and most probably will, be reinstated - - started again from where it left off. The court cannot, and will not, take your paycheck into consideration. However, once you marry this guy (who has this financial baggage), your personal "economy" will be affected. Remember, California is a Community Property State, and as such, all income to the household is affected by the debts of the other spouse. So, indirectly, your money can be used by your future husband to pay off this debt.

You may want to think twice, or perhaps, three times before you say, "I do."
