Spouse support

my girlfriend has been married for three years to her soon to be x in the state of new jersey. her spouse claims to be disabled but no test or doctor ever found anything wrong with him. he lost his job for calling out too often. my girlfriend had paid all the bills for the last year of their marriage. he is suing her for support and the court awarded him two hundred dollars per week. he applied for disability and her attorney said at first that if he receives it she would not have to pay him anything and if it was denied he would have get a job. now non of that seems to matter and she still has to pay him. i would like to know if this is the norm and does she have any options. her attorney says no but he is not a very good attorney. we would like to settle this matter soon since we are planning to marry as soon as she is divorced. can you please advise?

If she is ordered by a court to pay... she has to pay until a court tells her to stop paying.

She has the money and he was considered a house- husband and entitled to support.

So you see there are MANY MANY more advantages NOT to get married if you have no kids... just live together.
