What is the name of your state? Wi

I have a friend who was married her husband passed and 2 children collect the ssi. she did also until she got married. Now she is divorced. can she reapply for ssi. and when one child turns 18 what happens to the portion of that money once the child turns 18?

It's unclear from your post , why "she" was receiving SSI and is now not .

If she is truly disabled , depending on the Living situation ,she may or may not qualify . Have her call SSA toll free number .

The kids ? when they are 18 they can get benefits on their own, unless they need assistance in handling their affairs , then they would need a Payee , and possibly more .

Again SSA's toll free number to get started .

she isn't disabled at all. her husband passed away and her and the kids were receiving his benefits. she got married again which i know disqualifies you from the benefits. but now shes divorced and wants to know if she could get benefits back.

I think the confusing part here is that she was receiving social security survivors benefits (not SSI).

Actually, most likely be reintitled:

see :http://policy.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0300208035#B

"1. Subsequent Marriage Terminates"
The claimant can be entitled or reentitled to mother's/father's or surviving divorced mother's/father's benefits if he/she remarried but the subsequent marriage terminated. Benefits are payable for the month in which the death or divorce occurs.

When in doubt, file a formal application and get a decision from SSA.
