What is the name of your state? Ohio Hi, I receive SSI and SSD. I am not up for review for SSI until 2009 and not up for review for SSD until 5-7 yrs prior to April, 2006. What I was wondering, and I know that 2009 is a couple of years away, is that, when SSI reviews me in 2009 is that just for monetary purposes to see if I am still in the poverty level, or is it for medical too. I also don't understand why SSI is going to review me in 2009, which would be three years after I was approved, and SSD is going to review me in 5-7 yrs after I was approved. Thank You, Pam

When it's time for review , SSA will review you for disability ( medical/Mental ) eligibility status .

Thank You for your reply. I don't fully understand. I need to ask another question please. When you say SSA, do you mean Social Security Disability will review me for medical/mental. Which will be in 5-7 yrs. If I am understanding correctly, what will SSI be reviewing me for in 2009. Thank You for your patience. Pam

I just got a notice from Social Security that said my Supplemental Security Income (SSI) case is being reviewed. What does this mean?

Answer
Social Security reviews every Supplemental Security Income case from time to time to make sure the individuals who are receiving checks should continue to get them. The review also determines if the individuals are receiving the correct amounts.
