What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania

My husband wants to adopt my 13 year old son. His bio-dad has agreed to this.
I am curious to know what the steps are and how long this will take from start to finish.

it depends really. however, it's almost unaminous on this board to not give a step by step for adoption. best bet is an attorney well versed. adoptions are not something you want to leave a loophole because something wasn't done correctly. if all parties are agreeable, it will take less time and effort. just make sure it's done right.

Always, always start with a lawyer consult. IF your adoption can proceed without the lawyer, the lawyer can tell you and guide you through the process.

An adoption is something you DON'T want to screw up.
