My husband and I have been married since early January, he has been in my two year old son's life since he was three months old and has supported him since then. I don't know were his biological father is and am not sure how to contact him. My husband is wanting to adopt him but we are not sure how to go about terminating his rights and starting the adoption. I have read several things that said we needed to file for adoption and the courts would determine termination but something else said we needed an attorney to terminate before we could file. We don't have a lot of money for a lawyer so we need to know the best way to go about this.
