i have been involved in a custody battle for 9 1/2 years. my daughter is 10 1/2 now, after several attempts to have her father relinquish his parental rights he finally has conceeded. her father has never been involved, his last contact with her was a month ago over the phone while getting n'sync tickets for his wife and her children. my husband is willing to adopt my daughter, we have been together since she was 2 1/2. when he signes off of her, what rights does his family have to her? is it possible to put restrictions on them to keep her father away from her? what grandparents rights do his parents get? if he is not legally or financially responsible for her, i do not want him near her. he has caused so much pain in her life.
