My husband and I married on May 29, 2010. He wants to adopt my daughter. Is there a mandated time frame in the adoption statute that we have to be married before he can file the papers?

I'd suggest BOTH you and your brand, spankin' new hubby both research the archives diligently and read all the step parent adoption posts where people want'd to undo the adoption they both rushed into way too fast, and now no longer wanted because of a divorce.

Why not let the ink on your marriage license dry for a year or two before pushing new hubby to become the forever parent and become financially responsible for the child you had with someone else.
