My ex husband has not seen the three children in 3 years and 10 months, he has only paied child support 4 times in that 3 year time . we are currently in the prosses of taking him to court for contempt because of not paying. We live in ohio and I am not real clear on the laws and can not afford a lawyer, so my question is...... At this hearing for child support will I be able to ask for him to sign away his right compleatly so that we will be able to file the papers for my new husband to adopt the kids. He and I have 1 child together and for the past 3 years he has been daddy to my other 3 children.

I hope that someone can help me on answering this question.. Thank you

Please do yourself a favor and at least speak with a lawyer in your area. Many offer free consultations:

www.attorneypages.com or your State Bar Association.

What you will be seeking is either for him to voluntary relinquish his rights or get the court to order full rights to your because of abandonment.
