I live in Tennessee, and just got a "termination of parental rights" on my childrens biological father. My husband (their step-father) intends to adopt them. My lawyer told me that the hard part is over, since I got the termination, but that I would still need to contact an adoption lawyer. Do I still have to get a consent from the biological father? What other steps do I need to take? What is the approximate cost involved? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
