My friend and I own a speed boat and a trailer. This boat and trailer is registered in both our names olny. The boat was being stored at his house. The motor to the boat came up missing 2 weeks after my friend and his wife seperated. She just admitted that she sold the motor for $1,000. We knew she had to have been involved because this motor was very heavy and needed a forklift or many guys to move, and the boat was being stored in the backyard that is fenced. We were wondering what can be done about this? We have the serial number to the boat motor. We did not have insurance on the boat at the time. Thank you for any advice

Pretty simple.... have your friend file a theft report with the police... and naming his 'separated wife' as the suspect.

Yes you can file a police report...However, Being that your friend was married at the time their is a good chance that the Police are going to tell you that it is a civil issue.
