What is the name of your state? IN
Gota a bit of a mess that needs to be cleared up: My ex-wife filed for a support modification on one child that was involved in our otiginal divorce, and then paternitiy establishment for a child we had out of wedlock after our divorce (no question about it, it's mine, we were in an exclusive relationship even after our divorce) Basically she got ticked off one day and filed. We have since reconciled, we have not been to court yet. I retained a lawyer immediately when I recieved a summons. The ex and I are both in agreement of what support should be paid, visitation etc.... Even though she acted spontainously by filling, we are both educated adults that want the best for our children. She has not recieved or filled for any state aid. With all that said, how do we stop all this and keep the state out of it? We are on great terms and have made up our own schedule as far as visitation, payment for child related expenses etc.. We just don't want any money being taken out of my check. My lawyer says it may be a hassel, but then again, he's on the payroll as long as the court is involved. Whats the next step to get this dropped and get on with our lives without the state courts involved?
