What is the name of your state? NJ

In my mailbox today I received what looks like a summons from a local court saying I'm being sued by a credit card company for a small amount of money they say I owe them. I don't remember ever owing this company money. I thought a summons had to be delivered in person? Anyway, it talks about 3 things I can do: file an answer, call the plaintiff's attorney and try to resolve it or get a lawyer. The summons doesn't look very official and has no signatures on it or stamps or anything like that. What should I do?

Take it to the court that supposedly issued the summons and see if it is real. Some summons such as small claims and minor property disputes can be delivered by mail. Most are usually sent certified, RRR, to verify delivery. If the summons is a fake, contact the police.
