I live in a small community in Wisconsin. My son has always had learning problems, while his sisters have always done well. One evening while I was at work the gudance counselor called my home and asked if she could drop off a letter for me. My son said yes. Upon arriving she insisted on sitting at my dining room table , and held a discussion with my son, mostly one- sided, he wanted her to leave and was quite upset, however she stayed at my home for over 1/2 hour on school business with my son without my permission. He is in 8th grade and quite shy. I want to approach our school board and tell them about this instance as I personally do not believe it was right and probably not legal, so I need to know if it was legal before I approach the school board and ask to have something done about this.

Where were you?

If she was asked to leave and didn't, she would be treaspassing. If it was your son who asked her to leave and he was the only one there, her word against his... not much there.

From your post, my thoughts are approach the school administration, tell them your thoughts and ask that the person be told not to do that again. That is probably about the only thing you can do.
