What is the name of your state? Oregon

Sorry in advance for the stupid question.

I was discharged from a chapter 7 bankruptcy 12/19/05 and the case was closed on the same day.

I have just recently moved, same city, do I need to notify the bankruptcy court of my new address?

Thanks:)

Well, at least you're right about one thing. It is stupid.

Okay, thanks for the great info:rolleyes:

I qualified the post saying it was stupid, I assume that I do not have to notify them, but you know what happens when you assume.

I, however, am not a deadbeat, you have no idea who I am or what my history is.

Up until now I have gotten amusement out of your posts, even though they are positively raunchy sometimes. But what right do you have to call me names, I have never insulted you on this forums. I believe I have even said that you are one of the more knowledgable(spelling) people on here. But I guess you don't care who you insult.

What would be the harm in notifying them of your new address? A stamp costs $0.39.

Well, I don't really want to notify them if I don't need too.

I was hoping maybe Ladynred og Bigun would advise me as they are the experts:D

Why don't you just call and ask?

Because, I am allergic to the telephone;)

No really I will, thought I would try here first, but judging by IAAL's response maybe that wasn't such a good idea. I forget that there are alot of people out there that think you are a deadbeat if you have filed BK, which is one of the reasons I put off filing until I was at the end of my sanity:D

I don't think IAAL said you are a deadbeat because you filed bankruptcy. I think it was because it looks like you're trying to escape from your obligations.

I'm not sure what you mean?

Do you mean that by filing BK, I was trying to escape from my obligations?

or

by not sending them my new address?
Since my case was closed Dec 2005 I don't know if I am required to, but if I am, I will certainly do so.

No one has the right to call someone a deadbeat just because they filed BK. I am six months post-discharge, with no new debts, and don't plan on obtaining any, until I can buy a house, someday.:)

And since IAAL hasn't responded again, who knows why he called me a deadbeat, maybe he just felt like it:D

Edit to add: Maybe it was just the title of my post!

Ok.. enough of the nonsense. It is unlikely your case was discharge AND closed on the same day, but at any rate your case is over.

There is absolutely NO reason for you to notify the bankrutpcy court of your new address, your case is done.

Thanks, thats what I assumed but I wanted to make sure. BTW, I was suprised that it was closed on the same day as the discharge, but that's what it states on Pacer.
