What is the name of your state? Indiana

Every time I send my daughter with my ex he gets her hair chopped off, realy realy short and freaky looking. I expressed to him that I do not want her hair cut. When I was little I was given the option when I was old enough to have my hair cut. Like when I was 9-10 you know. I wanted my kelly to have that option. Her hair is so beautiful and curly red. Last hack was so bad it's still recovering. The bangs were cut so deep back in to her hair half was bangs almost like 80% almost a mullet. I was so beyond horrified. They were also so short. I cried. Anways here is the question

Can I have something added about him not being allowed to have her hair cut without my consent? I know it sounds stupid but I don't want her being teased because she has weirdo hair.

But it seems that this would be hard to enforce. Once he has her in his care, how could you stop it from happening? I'm sorry your daughter and you are going through this...:(

I don't know how it would be inforced but I was thinking if it was in there maybe he wouldn't try to push his luck and just leave it alone. He knows it bothers me thats why he does it. Now If only I could prove it LOL

Oh I see...

Well then tell him how much you love it next time! This has two benefits...maybe he will stop doing it since it is costing him money (or is he doing it himself?) and not bugging you, and your daughter will get to hear how adorable she looks with her new doo.

I know that some people have it in their order that NEITHER parent can alter the appearance of the child without the other parent's consent. Not sure how likely it is that you could get a current order modified to include that language.

Also, clauses like that apply to both parents. You can't prevent him from getting the child's hair cut w/out also preventing yourself from doing so.

I think this is something that can be resolved in mediation or coparenting counseling, but if it can't I'd take it to court. If my sons father or SM ever cut my sons hair it wouldn't bother me so much, but if I had a girl I'd go ape sh*t cause little girls hair is different to me, lol! Honestly, unless the child's haie looks awful I see no reason for the NCP to cut the child's hair if the CP is taking care of it. You should take pics of how you like your daughter's hair and pics after she comes back from dad's looking awful to show a judge should need be!

I recall a friend years ago having something like that in their agreement... to prevent the piercing issue.
That would get really annoying never knowing what your child is going to come home looking like. Shouldn't those decisions be made by CP?

I know there isn't too much that can be done, but I can totaly agree on the fact that it would apply to both of us. That wouldn't be a problem. He just knows that I don't want it cut. I think his GF used to cut it, and botched realy bad lots of times. Infact when I commented on it the last time She was the one that said when you get your hair cut it oxidizes the hair and makes it grow faster. I just let it go because I know hair well. Mine is long, trims are healthy but you can't oxidize dead protine. I do hair/make up for a production company so I know hair. It just sucks sooo bad. I mean if here hair didn't look so bad I wouldnt mind. There is cute, then their is awefull. I felt bad for my daughter because even she didn't like it. She likes to twirl her curls around her finger. I know at the time a 2-3 year old doesn't have the concept to say I want my hair cut this way daddy LOL
