What is the name of your state? NC

I'm a pilot with USAirways on the Express side of the house, represented by ALPA (Airline Pilots Association). As you probably know UsAir isn't in the best financial situation but the necessary changes are in the works and we do have a very good chance of pulling out of bankruptcy.

My question is, the Machinist unions and the flight attendant unions, most the machinist (aka mechanics) are stalling in concession talks. Since the national union leaders for both groups is calling for them to strike should the bankruptcy judge allow the contracts to be voided, would those of us (pilots, ramp/gate agents, etc) have the ability to sue the national union(s) for costing us our jobs.

If these unions don't agree to concessions and their contracts are voided by the judge they most likely will strike and it will run UsAir out of business in literally hours. My "rational" is that the national unions calling for these strikes has no downside to UsAir going out of business since they represent almost all mechanics and flight attendants in the nation. I would think their reckless actions calling for an illegal strike (according to the railways labor act) would be an act available for lawsuit by those it most direly effects.

Maybe I'm off base on this, but any input either way would be appreciated.

Southwest is making money. U.S. Air is going to fade into oblivion. National unions only care about one thing - your dues! They are more worried that the employees will wise-up, drop them (losing those dues), and work to save the company. Call the NLRB and ask about the union's actions. They will tell you the truth.
