My daughter was adopted by my husband when she was 3. She is now 16, and would like to know if she has the right to sue her biological father for support?

NOT even if she werent adopted, your daughter would NEVER have the right to sue ANYONE for support.

Well, until she has to sue the father of her own child for support.

Why hasn't her adopted (legal) father helped to support her? You don't get to pass around a kid and get paid twice for it, sorry!!

Holy Smoke!

When a parent adopts, we accept full FOREVER responsibility for our child! Completely.

The man who adopted your daughter has been your daughters ONLY father ever since (legally). How dare she think she should have two fathers BOTH responsible to support her?

A bioparent isn't an annuity one keeps in reserve and then "cashes in" sometime in young adulthood.

I can't believe that you even need to ask.
Did you not understand that when her biological father's rights were terminated his responsibilities were also terminated- forever?

If your daughter wants more "support" she needs to ask you and her father- her ONLY father.

What gets me about your question is that apparently you have NOT expalined the facts to your daughter, she has only 1 father- the man who adopted her.
