What is the name of your state? IL

I am going to court in 10 days. There are four things that are going to be going on that court date.

(1) Increase in CS.
(2) Court order for me to have NCP's insurance card(s).
(3) Contempt of Court for a medical bill of $64.50 that he owes half to me since I has paid the whole amount.
(4) Terminate joint custody.

This is where I need to think about things. Now that I am going from joint custody to sole custody should I have any parenting agreements in the sole custody? Or should Ijust leave it clean and simple (as my lawyer puts it)?

My lawyer told me to think about what I want. I have at least 9 more years. Is there anything I am missing?

How about visitation?

If the court actually finds him in contempt for $32.25 not yet paid, please let me know!

Ok...the actual dentist bill that occurred was $129.00 - he owes me the $64.50..sorry I should of wrote that better.

As for visitation, that will not change unless he brings that up. I will not touch the visits because that is all my son knows and I won't pull him away that like. It's just the joint custody that we have more problems with.

I am going to court in 10 days. There are four things that are going to be going on that court date.

(1) Increase in CS.

**When was the last modification?

(2) Court order for me to have NCP's insurance card(s).

**Ok.

(3) Contempt of Court for a medical bill of $64.50 that he owes half to me since I has paid the whole amount.

**?? He'll probably bring it with him. Not much of a bill.

(4) Terminate joint custody.

**On what grounds? Why? What is the point?

This is where I need to think about things. Now that I am going from joint custody to sole custody should I have any parenting agreements in the sole custody? Or should Ijust leave it clean and simple (as my lawyer puts it)?

**Once again, why are you wanting to terminate joint custody?

My lawyer told me to think about what I want. I have at least 9 more years. Is there anything I am missing?

**Yes, you've given no reason to terminate joint custody. Are we talking joint legal custody, joint physical custody or both?

"When was the last modification?" 6 yrs ago

"(3) Contempt of Court for a medical bill of $64.50 that he owes half to me since I has paid the whole amount.
**?? He'll probably bring it with him. Not much of a bill."

***The point is he owe's it, I have wrote him letters asking him to pay..don't need for him to slack off now.

"Yes, you've given no reason to terminate joint custody. Are we talking joint legal custody, joint physical custody or both?"

***I have joint custody w/ me having the physical custody but he has been using this joint custody to harrass me for the last 9 yrs....having proof of all of that my lawyer said its a go.

With that all I am asking is since I am going from joint custody to sole custody should I still have some stipluations put into the new agreement? Examples: telephone conversations, illnesses..ect.

Of course. He will still have visitation, holidays, summer time, phone calls, etc. You will still be required to keep him informed. That should all be specified unless you want yet more problems because the two of you interpret the "clean and simple" guidelines in the order.

Most definitely visitation will not be touch. But I feel that now that I am doing this that he will not answer the phone if and when I do call my son when he is with his dad so I thought I would keep the telephone issue in an agreement signed by the judge.

UPDATE!

Today was my court date and I got everything I went to court for.

(1) The judge terminated joint custody but I have and will continue to notify the father of dr's appointment.
(2) Increase in CS...well it was only $20.00 b/c he walked in with a neck brace and said he is now getting workmen's comp checks that reduced $500.00 from what he was making, so there will be another court date on CS in the furture once we figure out if he gets a settlement or gets back to work full time.
(3) They did order him to pay the $64.50 TODAY...he had to pay it to his lawyer who will then send it to me.
(4) It is now court order for me to have insurance cards presently and every time he gets new one, I get one to, also, get a booklet about his insurance.

Plus he is responible for $400.00 of my lawyer's fees and court costs today. :p

Couldn't be a better day!
