What is the name of your state? WI

I think I probably already know the answer to this question, but it never hurts to verify.

My summer parenting time statrs the Sunday after school gets out. The school calendar all year has had the end of school as today. The calendar has not changed. Which means my summer parenting time would begin on Sunday.

Ex1 informed me yesterday that school is extended by one day due to snow days. I did verify this with the school. So Ex1 is saying summer does not begin until Sunday the 15th.

I am kind of not real happy about this as I have already paid for a couple summer fun things (one of which occurs next week), do I have any recourse to get this coming week? Or even make up (or partial make up) time?

I am really really bummed that one day (that they don't do anything anyway) is going to cost me a week of time with kiddo.....

I don't mean to be rude, Zephyr, but what is the reason you did not learn of the date for snow makeup earlier? I realize that your ex just told you -- but surely the school district did not add the extra day yesterday. Do you have a means to check the district's announcements online and avoid this sort of problem in the future?

That sucks. :(

I have no WI help, just empathy from having BTDT with a Rules Were Made For Me To Enforce kind of "coparent." (Actually, my H's, but I suffered alongside. ;) )

Explain to your ex that there is a fun paid activity that you want child to participate in and try to get ex to agree to it.

Don't worry about being rude, it's a valid question. As I cannot get any information from Ex1 about school EVER, I make it a point to check the school calendar online frequently, it's never changed. So of course when Ex1 said that school was extended, I called the school to verify. They are extending til Monday, but the office worker had no explanation at all why the calendar hadn't been updated....you know "notes were sent home in their backpacks".....

Ugh, that stinks. I'm sorry. I agree w/Ohiogal, but sounds like it will likely fall on deaf ears. Do you all live in the same area? Could you ask to trade that one day next week for another day with him elsewhere in the summer, explaining you've been going by the online calendar and had no idea there had been a change when you made these plans?
