Today and Unknown man approached my home I was unaware of who he was and spoke through him through my doorbell camera I asked him what he needed and he said that he had court documents for people whose names I did not recognize I told him that this was not their address and he walked off and got into his vehicle shortly thereafter he was back at my front door saying that he had ran the plates on my vehicle in the driveway and that the people he was looking for do reside here and at that moment he dropped the court summons on the porch said consider yourself served and walked away is this legal and if not what can we do about it because we don't want to be served someone else's documents.

You can't be "served" with a court summons unless your name appears as the person to whom the summons is directed.

So, would you like to tell us whether or not you are the person named in the summons or are you going to leave the document sitting on your porch and hope that it blows away?
