What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NH
This morning I had my final DVP hearing in District Court with my 3 year old sons father. We also have a pending modification case in Superior Court (hearing scheduled for 10/22).
In the middle of telling my ex to "wipe that smug look off his face" and threatening to put him in jail for contempt, the judge informed my ex that if I were to mention in Superior Court the fact that his wife is a convicted felon with heroin possession charges, he (my ex)should be expecting his wife to not be allowed to have any contact with our 3 year old. The judge then granted the final DVP and ordered ex's visitation to occur in a DCYF visitation center until the Superior Court modifies our current order.
This comment is making me wonder. I do not have any experience with DCYF or visitation centers. Will his wife be allowed to be at the visitations with our son? I thought only the visiting parent and child participated? How are the visitation centers set up? Is our son going to sit in a room with his father and some toys and have a stranger watching? Are there other children present doing visitation as well?
I did look up visitation centers in my area, but they are private companies providing this service, not DCYF. I can't find any information on DCYF centers.
