suspended license

i got stopped today and got 2 tickets.expired registration and driving while suspended.it is my third offense.i cant afford a lawyer.is it worth getting a public defender?are the police allowed to just randomly run license plates?i live in nj

You need a Lawyer, are just stop driving. A lawyer will be able to get points taken of your Lic, and even find fault in the traffic stop.
