What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I am broke. Divorce is final and I am not able to continue to pay all that was ordered.
I have no attorney and can't afford one.

How can I take it back to court and have the judge re- evaluate?

There are mortgages that are on property that is not selling and I can't keep them up.

If they go to foreclosure i am in contempt. What can the judge do to me?

How long ago was the divorce finalized?

What is the reason that you cannot pay what the court ordered you to pay?

If your income has decreased INVOLUNTARILY, was the decrease after the order was issued?

AND, what is it that you're not able to pay? If it's child support and/or alimony and you have had a change in circumstances, it may be possible to get a reduction. OTOH, it's harder to change a property division.

I just need to know what I need to do to get it back in court. The final decree is about 10 months old. There are many circumstances that have changed since then the judge needs to be aware of. It is long and complicated.
I just need to know what to do to get back to the judge. I refuse to pay any more attorney fees and I have been dismissed by my attorney because I owe him a lot of money. That debt alone is enough to prevent me from paying any of the mortgages.
So how do I get back to the judge with this?

What specifically, in your financial situation has changed since the decree was final?

It does appear that you are not really trying to sell the real estate.

What??!! You have no right to accuse me of not trying to sell real estate. Have you dealt with the market lately? What a supposition!

simple question: what do I have to do to take it back to court?

The judge can decide the rest of the matter.

You don't seem to be willing to price the real estate to actually sell.

This is typical of this forum.
Ask a simple question and everyone pounces without any background facts and the question goes unanswered!

You haven't answered the other questions which really are relevant, and would make the difference between getting your matter in front of a judge and having it decided, possibly in your favor; versus getting your matter in front of judge, have the court (metaphorically) laugh in your face, dismiss your case with prejudice, and sanctioning you (i.e. requiring you to pay your X's attorney's fees) for wasting everybody's time. Your "long and complicated" circumstances may very well not be enough to keep your matter out of the latter category, regardless of what you think.

If you're as short of money as you claim, frivolous court filings are probably not in your best interest.

Talk is cheap. So start talking!

Forget I asked

stamp your feet much?

you can do a modification for the kicks and giggles.

but what was being asked of you is to help you word the situation so we can help you with that modification. but you don't seem to want help.

if the economy is to blame, there is recourse. there are options. we can't give them to you if you don't tell us the true reason.

if you were involuntarily laid off, there is recourse, we can help you.

but you have to be honest. we can't help you in the wrong direction with no starting point.

and none of us like giving false hope.
