What is the name of your state? Florida

Ok, I did a VERY stupid thing and let my ex boyfriend to buy all his furnitures (more than $5000 worth) on my credit. He paid the minimum payments of those bills for a year and when we broke up he stopped paying them. Anyway I finally paid all the bills myself because I don't want to ruin my credit (as he has done with his). However I don't want him to get away this easily, does anyone have any suggestions? I am thinking about taking him to small claims court and at least get the furnitures back if I cannot get the money. Please help :(

Limit for Small Claims Court in Florida is $5,000. These rules are applicable to all actions at law of a civil nature in the county courts in which the demand or value of property involved does not exceed $5,000 exclusive of costs, interest, and attorneys' fees.

Also you will have the burden of proof.
