What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas's. My employer deducted taxes out of my final check from a loan I had been given and a bonus I had received, making my check $108. He did this because I had to file a claim because out of the original final check, he deducted the bonus. He's trying to get back at me because I wouldn't work 14 hrs a day being a 59 year old man.

You are supposed to pay taxes on the bonus. As for the loan, if they have forgiven it, then taxes will need to be paid as they are on any other wages.

Federal income tax must be withheld from the bonus you received.

As to the loan, what kind of loan was it? Was it a loan against your 401(k) or other retirement plan with the employer? If not, what was the deal with the loan? Did the employer discharge (forgive) the loan once your employment was terminated?
