temporary custody order

i have been a single father of 4 children the last 10 years.
unfortunately my parents asked the children to stay with them while I was dealing with some legal issues of my own.
this has been going on for 4 years. ihave the 2 older children with me for the last 2. my parents are fighting me on the younger 2.
this arrangement was only to be for one month. I wrote the court requesting a hearing. they replied telling me i would need to follow proper procedure. What forms? The children were not given to them at any fault of my own. I only agreed to a temp order so that if they were injured my family could legally see to their needs. All i want is the custody order dropped and the children returned to me. Any help?

We'd like to assist you; however, you apparently didn't see that big, red, writing up at the top of the page. Without your State name, or the name of the State where the problem happened, it would be difficult to assist you. Laws are different everywhere.

thanks for the quick reply.

I should add that my folks are Jehovah Witnessess and have convinced my children that if they were to return to me that they would fall away from the truth and would not share in paradise on earth but will die and return to the dust we were created from.
we have 4 teens at home now that all work or go to school and are well adjusted. Apparently we can't live up to my folks expectations and they feel that they can provide a better environment for my kids. personally I think they just want the tax break. I feel they are going to force me into an expensive court case and we have a family to take care of. please help. I think this is an easy case because there is very little paperwork involved. I am sorry to have written such a lenghty letter but I want you to get a full picture.
