What is the name of your state? Arizona

My tennants (three Men) call me and tell me "someone" tried to break in the house and broke in a door(back door with glass window). Nothing was taken and the tennants were reluctant to call the police and report the incident, which made me suspicious. Should I have reported the incident? I suspected they were lying because they were reluctant to lie to the police, but what could I do? I fixed the door. Now they will be moving out soon, I am thinking of charging them for the door they broke in when they lost their keys and broke in drunk.

What would you all do?

I would have called the police immediately after being informed of a break in and property damage at MY property.
