I live in garden grove california. My husband was diagnoised with cancer and was terminal. We started the step parant adoption because he wanted my children whom he loved to have survival benifits. The investigation department tried to push it through quickly once our case reached their department. We have completed the investigation process and only had the court apearance proceedings to complete. My husband unfortunantly passed awayon 3-6-01 befor the court proceedings took place. My husband made very clear to the investgator that he wanted this adoption to take place so the kids could have some security in his absance. Can i still proceed with this adoption??.

I'm very sorry for your loss. That is very unfortunate.

But, I don't believe the process can be resumed since his death. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

God bless.
