What is the name of your state? Kansas
I know in Kansas, there is a 2 year mark on terminating a parents' rights.... 2 years, little to no child support and little to no contact.... my question is that, if someone would terminate a parents' rights at that point, would there have to be another parent to adopt the child or could there be a gaurdianship set up in place of the other parent? I have read upon this issue and I have ran into a lot of different things why the parents' rights can be terminated, and my ex falls into all of the things they list as far as Kanas goes... I know in other states it is 1 year instead of 2, and some states are lower. I haven't hit the 2 year mark yet, but I am sure things won't change from now to the 2 year mark. He has another child that the mother is in the process of doing all of this in the next few months, and I am sure when that happens when it is time for me to procede that child will be mentioned, he hasn't seen that child at all. Well if anyone has any information on this issue, please reply.... Thanks!
