What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida. My son-in-law works on an off shore service boat for the oil industry in the gulf. The captain was (apparently) using drugs and was sleeping while on duty. The boat struck an (unknown) object and damage was caused to the boat. The next day all of the crew underwent drug screening, with the exception of the captain, who refused. The owner called a meeting and everyone was terminated. Is there a case here for defamation of character or anything else?
