What is the name of your state? tx

why does it seem when someone doesn't get the answers they want they delete the thread?

I have a few on here recently that the responses were so obviously not what the poster wanted to hear.

Now those same thread are gone!

Irritating!!!!

Grrr.....

Yep, I noticed two threads gone. I guess it's the posters' way of stomping their feet and throwing a temper tantrum. :D

I don't know if this is the case w/ all posts---but for me, it's one of 2 things (yeah I know, some won't agree either are "good enough" reasons) ---1) as I re-read it seems they MAY have "too much info". Could just edit it, but then the post likely wouldn't be much help to someone else facing something similar; 2) I have a serious question that gets only 2 or 3 replies, mostly from one person who's sole purpose is to be a smart-aleck (I don't mean don't give me the answer I want--I mean giving flat-out petty, mean, and/or pointless replies!) rendering the thread not even worth reading!

One last thought that may be in some cases? Personally, I've written while upset and had I been in a better frame of mind I likely would have thought of the answers myself that I get in reply. Even so, unless it holds TMI, I leave the thread because someone else out there might benefit from the wisdom ;) But likely there's some who're really touchy about people replying to such posts with things the poster KNEW was right, it made them feel kinda silly, so they pulled it.

My thoughts

I wrote a post while extremely upset regarding a situation. (I did not receive any responses) I had already retained an attorney before writing the post, though I had not talked with her yet. I realized after reading the post later that week, I was really looking for a sympathetic shoulder to cry on and was not actually asking for legal advice. I did delete the post, mainly because I knew it was more of a "dear abby" post and much less about legal advice. I apologize for my error. I didn’t realize deleting it was such a big deal. :o

1. Deleting a post that got no responses versus deleting a post in which someone took the time to look up statutes/research advice for you and someone else is not the same. We're not going to hold it over your head. (Unless you went to great lengths to insult us and call us every name in the book. We might get offended :-)
2. This probably had more to do with a more particular post in with the OP deleted yet another thread. In that case, deleting the thread was smart considering what was written.
3. Deleted threads tend to stand out when there's been heated debate, you personally have posted, or more than one thread gets deleted around the same time.

Don't take it personally.;)

You are the kind of poster this place needs!!!:) I hope whatever your post was, you did get a good answer about it from your attorney.

Thanks all

Thanks skyy and ryry's mom. I didn't want people to feel like I didn't value the advice I get on this site. Though I don't post often, I do gain quite a bit of good advice, just by reading other people's posts.
To ryry'smom:
yes, I have gotten really good advice from my atty, the whole matter should be settled by the end of June. Thanks for asking.
