What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I got a speeding ticket a couple of weeks ago. I had it in my head that it was due on 6/20.

I am at working preparing to drop off my envelope with ticket and payment enclosed. Then I looked at the ticket and realized my court date wasn't 6/20, it is tomorrow (6/12).

There is a drop box near the court house but I was out of town when I got the ticket so it's a 6 hour round trip.

Not sure what to do. If I drop it in the mail tonight and call them tomorrow to let them know will it most likely work out alright or do I need to make that 6 hour drive tonight to go put it in their drop box?!

Thanks for any help/advice.

You'll have to call that court tomorrow morning and find out what they want you to do.

Of course, it's probably too late now but you COULD have overnighted it.

A good argument in favor of setting your cruise control to the speed limit.

I'd get on the court's website tonight and see if you can pay by credit card either online or by phone in the AM.

Otherwise, what you do is up to you.
