What is the name of your state? Texas.

I had an altercation in Austin, Texas on Jan 3rd of this year with my now ex-girlfriend. No body was hurt in the dispute, but the neighbors called the police. She decided not to press charges. It is more than 2 months later, and she is threatening to change her mind, and to now press charges, because i am not willing to pay for the broken door jam.

Can she do this? If so, is there a time limit from the time of incident in which she can do so?

It looks like Texas has a 2 year statute of limitations for misdemeanors. Might want to fix the door frame if this could be trouble. On the other hand, prosecutors don't like to be jerked around any more than you, so just because they CAN bring the charge doesn't mean they will.

Texas Art 12.02: "An indictment or information for any misdemeanor may be presented within two years from the date of the commission of the offense, and not afterward."
