What are my rights as a step parent
I live in ca. I am married with two stepchildren. We have 50/50 custody. I'm
At stay at home mom and so I am the primary caregiver when the boys are here. Their mother has recently made a huge stink about me taking them to dr appointments, discipling them, etc. Don't I have the rRight to do these things?

Not really. Of course, dad can give you a certain amount of authority at Dad's house, But honestly, Mom certainly has the right to get upset about you taking her children to the Dr.

I handled it this way: I had the right to be friendly with the kids. I left discipline up to dad. I was never mom, I was always "tigi." And, after I got smacked a couple of times by my now friends like OG, it was never "we."

And in terms of discipline? If you ever discipline them physically? You're in the wrong. You can put them in time out, take away tv time, etc. But don't even think of laying a hand on them.
