And, no, your child's father is not required to help you out. If he is paying child support, then he is meeting his legal obligation to the child. He has no financial obligation to you.

Thank you all I live in the state of Arizona.

Question: even if we are Not currently Married can I open a court order and possibly get some financial help ? By the way my son lives with me.

No, you can't sue the child's father to request that he support you in addition to paying his child support.

Well, you can, but you won't win.

You need to go out and get a job and support yourself and your (mutual) child.

Getting knocked up is not a pass to get money from someone for yourself. He is only obligated (when the court orders it) to help pay for the child. Something YOU also need to be doing.

Do you work?
