What is the name of your state? NCP in Indiana, CP and child in Georgia

Does a child automatically emancipate at the age of 18? Child support order says to pay support until "the child emancipates, or ceases to live with the wife." Divorce agreement says until "child turns 18".

Thanks anyone !!!

Child support does NOT cease until YOU file a modification .

What the heck , or as long as She continues to live with Mommy , that could be till She is( the daught ) is 70 fer cripes sake .

Go file for termination when She is 18 , take/enter . both Orders .

Your State must be funny :D

Georgia law states until age 20 or emancipation, whichever comes first. (and defines emancipation as graduation from high school, marriage, joining the military etc.)

Indiana law states age 21 or emancipation, whichever comes first, and being in college does not count as emancipated.

Therefore, no matter what state has jurisdiction, unless the child has graduated from at least high school....I don't think that the ncp is going to be able to get child support stopped at age 18.....very few teens graduate from high school these days before their 18th birthday.

I did! My daughter will if she is not held back. It depends on when the child's birthday is.

I did, too, and so did some of my friends. One of my kids did, one did not, due to birth date. My H did not, because of birth date.
It's just another mom-centric answer.
