Is it too late for me to seek credit counseling if a lawsuit has just been started against me by a credit card company? Thanks!

Nope. You have the right to get credit counseling at any time you wish. However, it will have NO effect on the lawsuit. They are separate and unrelated in any way.

And the CCCS process will likely result in MORE lawsuits as CCCS is nothing more than a collection arm for creditors. CCCS is funded and controlled by CREDITORS. These creditors are the ones who decide who gets on a debt management plan and who doesn't, NOT CCCS, and creditors don't want people on DMP's - they lose too much money !

Yep. A huge number of unsuspecting victims (sorry, 'clients') of the non-profit debt consolidators and 'counselors' don't realize that these company's work FOR the credit industry!!! And when this victim (damn, I meant 'clients') give the CCCS their personal information (income, current employer, address, etc.) they are giving that information directly to the creditors themselves (who have free access to the CCCS records).
Further proof that "nothing is free.... or non-profit!".
