What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MD

I currently live in MD. My ex and I have been divorced for one year now lives in FL (I believe). A tow truck came by my house and refused to let my guest out of my garage because he was looking for my ex (more specifically, her car). I did not get to speak to the driver so I dont know who the creditor is or what kind of car they are looking for. The only car I knew she had was a car she purchased while we were married (under her name solely) was a Volkswagen and the creditor was VW credit. I called them and, of course, they could not give me any information. I ran my credit report and there is nothing in my report that is not mine. How did they get my address? How can I make sure this doesnt happen again?

It was a minor inconvenience. You are free to give them her address...beyond that, life is full of minor inconveniences.

You can't. Unfortunately the laws protect the deadbeat not the innocent bystander. If the repo man won't get off the property or restrains some person, call the police.
