What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

My husband and I are planning on traveling to Mexico at the end of this year. He is a green holder eligible for citizenship but he never filed. He has a passport from his country that expires November 15th of this year and our trip is in November from November 8 to 15th. Can he still travel without renewing his passport even though it will expire the day we will come back? Are there any risks associated with that?

I would not recommend that. What if something happens to delay your trip back? Illness, plane delay, natural disaster, etc. Then he will not be permitted to board a plane because the passport will be invalid. Why not just apply for either citizenship in the US, if he is eligible (it currently takes about 4 months to get interviewed and then another 5-6 weeks to get passport) or if he does not want to apply for US citizenship, just apply to extend the passport from his current country of citizenship.
