What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

During T.S. Edouard, my tree in the back yard fell and is now laying on my roof. I don't know what the extend of the damage is but I have no leaks and at a glance there appears to be not much but a busted water gutter. I've been reading a lot about Trees and homes and it doesn't sound good. Anyone with experience here?

Thanks.

You will have to read your homeowner's insurance policy to see if it has a clause in it that would exclude an "Act of God".

If your not sure, contact your agent and ask.

Why would you think I was kidding?

What is your legal question for the board?

I will add, that I have been through a similiar situation.

I've read through that... The question is... The Tree is on my house as a result of a tropical depression. little or no damage, as stated. Now, if the tree is already on top of an insured structure is it still the responisbilty of the home owner to protect his/her property OR has that limitation been superseeded by the fact that the tree is now, physically on the insured structure.

I KNOW THIS IS A LEGAL FORM, I don't need vague responces.

Call your agent. My insurance guy was out same day when it happened to me and wrote me a check to have tree removed, roof repaired ( You may have damage and not know it yet) and my front porch repaired. Your insurance may be different and you will need to talk to agent.

Funny - your advice sounds a lot like the following...care to bet the OP won't like your advice either?
