Hey all.
A little background on this first. I worked for this company in Northern Kentucky from June 2016 until March 10, 2017. On 3/5/17 I was hit by a drunk driver while walking, my job called me on 3/10/17 to say they were letting me go but I could be rehired once I was better. The accident is a separate issue that is being handled already.
Skip to now. I'm feeling better, I can walk like a normal person again with a limp. On 9/11/17 I went back to my previous employer, talked to HR, the assistant looked me up to make sure I could be rehired with no problems. She hands me a card and directs me to a staffing agency and am told I can be back in there within a week. I shuttle myself to the staffing agency to talk to the guy I was needing to speak to. He says he'll be able to expedite all of this to get me in there within a couple days. I should've heard from him the following day(9/12/2017) on if the building manager ok'd it. Heard nothing, just got a "Can I call you later" text. Still no call. I'm still in touch with people I worked with and am hearing that they're not going to rehire me because of my boyfriend. We both worked there for the same amount of time, were let go the same day(his was attendance reasons). He had went back maybe month ago to see about getting his job back and was told he had to wait a year. That I am aware of(but I don't know, the boyfriend isn't so truthful anymore) everything went civil. But now I'm hearing he made a scene or something. He's currently working at another job he loves with higher pay.
Can I really be denied a job because of someone else's actions? I mean, it's me doing the work. And I am highly recommended for the position I had from the person that trained me. This is my way of living, paying my bills....not his.
Thanks for reading all of this!
