What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

The print at the bottom of the TV screen is either too small to read, or is not visible long enough to read. Do disclaimers in this form actually fulfill some type of legal requirement?

Yes they do.

what is the reasoning that the law requires the disclaimer but does not care if it can be read?

Well, if you had a 46: flatscreen and a DVR and recorded the commercial and then paused the image and zoomed.....And took a magnifying glass and squinted and kocked your head to the left......

You might be able to read that whatever they are claiming works in XYZ way may not always work that way and they refuse to be liable should it not**************blah blah blah legalese......

Well.... this hasn't actually been settled in any court to my knowledge. Some of that stuff is standard disclaimer anyway which would apply even if they didn't put it in little tiny letters at the bottom of the screen.
