What is the name of your state?undefinedWhat is the name of your state?Kansas My boyfriend and I want to give each other the legal right to perform business transactions on each other's behalf whether or not we are living, disabled, or deceased. We want to be able to limit such transactions as we so choose within the power of attorney form we choose. Can this be down and if so how can we view our options before purchasing the necessary form(s)?

Fisrt of all, a power of attorney is worthless if the party issuing the POA dies. Power of Attorney dies along with the issuer.

Secondly, a power of attorney is a very powerful document if not constructed exactly right. This isn't something to 'do yourself'. What happens if you go into a coma? Your boyfriend may have the right to pay your bills and sign checks, but not the right to make medical decisions. And if you have children (now or later) without being married, and you die, the children don't automatically go to him unless you have a standby guardianship which is different than a POA.

Both of you go talk to a local attorney and split the cost.

THEN you'll get exactly what you want.
